Jack Weinzierl | | I pray that you are as excited and re-fired as I am right now. People get ready. 2007 is a year of harvest for those diligently sowing seed with their finances and businesses. I am expecting that in my business and I pray that you are as well. I encourage you to pray over your business every day that the Lord directs the right candidates to you.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray for each person here this morning,
Please speak to us this morning, help us get out of the shadows and let us be light, open our eyes that we might see more clearly how to follow and serve you, that we find our purpose, passion, fully proclaim it boldly, and exude your power, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
I know that a few of you have gone to see The Pursuit of Happyness starring Will Smith. If you have not, I highly encourage you to do so. Minus one profanity near the beginning, it was a stellar movie and one I plan to share with my older boys. If anyone on this line is feeling discouraged or that you have too many things stacked against you, I promise you this movie will change that mindset. This is based on a true story and it a great story about perseverance and doing what it takes to succeed. Now, it is not a Christ-centered movie, but it is truly inspirational.
I want to encourage you this morning. If you feel like a failure in any area of your life this morning; if you feel like you failed in 2006; be IN courage. Failure is an event. It is not who you are. I repeat, failure is an event, it is not who you are or what defines you. We need to get our buts out of the way in 2007. I could, but; I would start doing this or that, but…… I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me…and ALL means ALL.
That brings me to our focus on this call this morning and that is moving beyond talking about it. In fact, this is going to be a short call this morning. Moving beyond talking about success, and more specifically Godly success. Our race is never just about us. If you know the Lord has led you here, then keep doing what you are supposed to be doing regardless of what you see right now.
A lot of people are talking about Vision and making goals for a successful 2007 at this time of year. How do you measure success?
What have you spoken over your home, your kids, and your business? Are there already some things you wish you could take back in 2007?
Are you speaking words of faith or fear?
How did you trade the days in your life last week? What are you going to trade today for?
Well, if you really want to know how to measure success, we need to define and look at the Bible’s path to success.
I Corinthians 9:24-26
We cannot take shortcuts—are we getting prepared?
How many of us are truly putting ourselves through strict training each day? Are we dealing with any sin that entangles us?
Is our heart ready?
Who are we giving glory to?
If you got $10 million today, could you give $1 million to God? Of course, everyone will say yes. Well, what did you do with your last check—it is an indicator of where your heart is right now.
Are you confident in receiving when you are in His will? Well, again, let’s look at what the Bible says about it.
I John 5:14-15
You may do good things, but God want you to do great things. Are you getting prepared?
You might be doing a lot of good things, but are they the right things? There is a difference between doing good things and the right things. We may be working hard, but going in the wrong direction. Are we following God’s plan and His rules in our race?
2 Timothy 2:5
Folks, if you are running the race God has instructed you to run, it is not just skipping along. There are folks out there that will want to take your head off. Our race is never just about us.
Write the Vision
SIT DOWN
Take some time (with your spouse and children if you have them) to check your heart and talk about these 4 areas….
WRITE DOWN (4 Things)
What you desire to do for the Kingdom of God this year?
What you desire to give to the Kingdom of God this year?
What you owe – every debt, large or small. (write down the principal, interest rate, payment, etc.)
What you would like to have or do personally if price/cost was of no concern?
HOLD UP
Hold the papers up before the Lord (with your spouse and children)
Acknowledge the Lord as your total Source and Thank Him for caring for you in times past.
Ask Him to enable you to fulfill the vision you’re written.
Claim all the favor and funds necessary to give, pay off, and do what you have written.
Command the devil to take his hands off these monies. Forbid him to hinder it coming to you.
Ask for and expect divine favor to cause the doors to open and opportunities and monies to come in.
Thank the Father wholeheartedly for bringing these things to pass in your life, to His Glory.
Visualize what you will do with His blessing before you have it. Prepare your heart.
We need to create an environment for success. We need to pray and get into God’s presence, with thanksgiving and praise. We need to seek His face BEFORE we seek His hand.
God created You for Greatness! Live and walk the vision. We need to see what God has promised us in His Word.
Have a blessed and productive week. Talk is cheap and I am done talking this morning and let’s all get into action, amen?
